Date II

Raw Date Caramel Sauce

Date has the power to transform himself into sweet, sweet caramel sauce.

Please check out Sarah McCin's Raw Caramel Sauce at The Sweet Life and consider pairing it with some Banana Soft Serve.

P.S. Many thanks to @ezovski for pointing out the uncanny resemblance between Date's silhouette & Block Island, RI.

Move over, corned beef and cabbage. Say hello to Celtuce, your new favorite green on St. Patrick's Day.

Pepper

Happy Mardi Gras! Justice, Faith, Power, purple pepper, green pepper, yellow pepper, bell pepper

Happy Mardi Gras!  In Cajun cooking the "Holy Trinity" of vegetables includes onion, celery, and green bell peppers.  For this festive holiday that screams color, we are going to include purple and yellow peppers as honorary members of the trinity family.

According to Wikipedia, the "Holy Trinity" is the base for many classic New Orleans dishes including étouffée, gumbo, and jambalaya.

Lucky for you, we have found some veg versions of these classic dishes to meet your veggie-loving needs on Fat Tuesday!
