We took a brief hiatus from our coverage of trendy seasonal eats, but we are back and excited to introduce you to Garlic Scape. An artist at heart, Ms. Scape doesn't like to discuss her role as Miss June in the Foodie Beauties Calendar.
Garlic Scape wants to be recognized for more than her youthful stalk, mild garlic flavor, and ephemeral nature. She's a poet, bedazzler, and lead actress in Off-Off-Broadway performances of Garlic Scape Pesto, Garlic Scape Stir Fry, and Garlic Scapes Roasted with Chickpeas and Sun-dried Tomatoes.

Thanks! We love strong anthropomorphized female role models at Kale Crusaders and need more of them!Delete
That scape is so dashing and poetic! Very fitting for a vegetable that passes through with much fanfare and leaves just as quickly as he came.ReplyDelete
Once the holidays arrive... (I know. A long time off!) You should do Jacob Barley! You know, like Jacob Marley from A Christmas Carol? Think about it! :)
Thanks for the idea! Very clever! We love to plan ahead for holidays and quirky events. Halloween can't come soon enough—we have many ideas up our sleeve for October.Delete
