Flax

The Flax Man Cometh

Happy Flax Day!  Today we honor a versatile seed who is capable of transforming and reinventing himself into crackers, bread, egg-replacer, and non-dairy milk.

If that's not the American Dream, we don't know what is!  Hats off to you, Uncle Flax.

  1. awesome. I started making my own flax milk recently. I love it. not great for coffee, but works well for cooking or baking, and i actually like it in my cereal.

    1. So cool, Lauren! You've made your own soy milk, almond milk, and now flax milk! Any others? Also, which flax milk recipe do you use?

    2. I think I originally saw the recipe at angry vegan - http://angry-vegan.blogspot.com/2011/03/vegan-milk-part-iv-flax-tastic.html

..but I am not one for adding sweeteners to things from the start, so I just do straight up flax seeds and water...

  3. I bought a big bag of flax seed about three months ago, and haven’t done a thing with it since! Now I have three excellent ideas.

Thanks, Kale Crustaders, and Happy Flax Day!
